Dear Drs. Marcelo Furtado
and Joao Pedro Junqueira,
I am writing this e-mail as a follow-up
to my vasectomy reversal surgery which Dr. Marcelo Furtado
performed on me on November 18, 2005.
I must admit that I was very hesitant
and nervous about doing such a procedure here in the USA,
let alone in Brazil. However, your open policy of a direct
contact via e-mail through which I had the chance to ask
questions gave me confidence. I was very pleased with the
information Dr. Marcelo provided and his prompt responses.
My experience at the Pro-Criar Clinic
and at the Mater Dei Hospital exceeded my expectations in
every aspect. Firt, all the doctors I dealt with were outstanding.
Dr. Joao Pedro Junqueira, who was my first contact, was
also my first source of positive feelings about what to
expect. Dr. Marcelo who performed the surgery gave such
a professional and affable attention, not only by clarifying
any of my concerns before and after the surgery, but also
by visiting me in my hospital room the first thing after
surgery and the next morning.
I have had no complications from the procedure
and feel confident about the results. The anesthesiologist
Dr. Giovanni was also very cordial and played an important
role by putting me at ease before, during and following
the procedure. In addition, Drs. Marcelo and Gioavanni were
able to converse fluently in English, which was very helpful
due to my limited ability to speak Portuguese.
Finally, I want to mention my experience
as a whole at the Pro-Criar Clinic and at the Mater Dei
Hospital. Everyone I dealt with including the clinic staff,
the hospital staff that ran my tests (including the cargiologist
Dr. Marcelo Augusto) and the nursing staff were always polite,
friendly, prompt and professional. I found the hospital
room very comfortable and was impressed with all the modern
conveniences available.
I appreciate my pleasant experience and
I would highly recommend you to anyone, whether from South
America or the United States, that is considering doing
this procedure.
Sincere regards,
Steve Shively
